The most successful business models of the future are increasingly built on the effective use of data. The transition to a data economy and the emergence of data spaces that enable data sharing are creating new opportunities for growth and innovation – for companies, ecosystems and society as a whole in Finland.
The Data Spaces Alliance Finland network is accelerating Finland’s data economy development by compiling, through an open call, a curated list of the most interesting data economy solutions originating from Finland.
Data Economy Spotlight 2026 is made possible by Business Finland, the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, Technology Industries of Finland, and TIEKE Finnish Information Society Development Centre.
Has your organisation implemented data-driven operating models, products or services where data is used in an insightful and innovative way?
We are looking for solutions that use, combine and share data in novel and compelling ways. The solution can be a product, service or operating model. It must be developed by one or more Finnish companies or organisations – at least one participating organisation must be registered in Finland. The solution must already be in practical use; concepts or ideas alone are not eligible.
The solution is interesting and inspiring from the perspective of data economy thinking, its core principles and especially new operating models. Data is shared, used and combined in new ways.
The solution creates new business, improves efficiency, increases productivity or wellbeing, or generates positive environmental impacts. The solution has the potential to scale either through growth or replication.
Where applicable, the solution demonstrates trustworthiness, accessibility, human-centricity, value creation, competence and/or data sharing in line with the principles of a fair data economy.
